On Memorial Day Sunday, we took a look at what it is to die before you die, in an process led by Doshin MJ Nelson. Doshin is an integral poet and Zen priest of no rank, founder of Integral Zen, Inc. a Colorado branch of the Hollow Bones Zen Order and co-founder of the Poetry of Dying Project, which provides workshops for those willing to look into the mirror of death and improve the quality of their own lives.
By taking an inventory of what we truly value in our life, and symbolically letting it go, we got a glimpse of what is "the most important thing". It is the direct experience of the timeless mystery of Self that ushers greater compassion, wisdom, courage and wholeheartedness into the living context of our lives.
Doshin also led us in our 9:00 meditation session, ushering us into a sublime experience of Qi Gong subtle body awakening.
Thank you, Doshin, for your kind generosity, wisdom and smiling heart!Hello Friends,
On May 13th, about 60 guests gathered together at the Millennium Harvest House Hotel in Boulder for a day of celebrating Mother's Day. Indeed, there were many moms, at least two very-soon-to-be-moms, and of course, not too many, but a few little ones. From 9-10am, we meditated (which is what we hope to do on all Integral Spiritual Sundays) and from 10am – 12pm, Jeff Salzman led and facilitated many wonderful exercises, practices, personal stories, small and whole group sharing about motherhood in a very wonderful and rich integral context. The room was filled with good energy; music, singing in rounds, prayer, altar offerings, personal stories and on occasion, a few tears too. A few pictures from the event are here.
